The final film in Herschell Gordon Lewis' 'blood trilogy'. Artist Adam Sorg is angered when the critics fail to react to his latest set of paintings and vows that next time he will make them sit up and take notice. Searching for a new direction, he finds inspiration when he sees the deep red of his girlfriend's blood. Taking this as his new medium, he embarks upon a brave new series of works, but when his girlfriend's blood runs out, he is forced to look further afield for donors.

An eccentric artist, Adam Sorg, is panned by a well known critic for not having any sense of colour. Determined to prove him wrong, Adam decides to start a new series of paintings with his own blood being used for the colour red. The richness of his paintings inspires him to seek more and more human blood in order to continue his creativity and therefore his murders?.
