New neighbour Dorothy McIntyre seems like the answer to Leah Garr s prayers. A made for TV Movie in which young 12 yr.old Robyn Garr(Evan Rachel Wood) lives with her parents Marcus (Tom Amandes-Boston Legal, Greys Anatomy) and Leah (Meredith Baxter-All the Presidents Men, Police Woman).Neither parents ever seem to be there for Robyn, especially Leah who is constantly flying to other cities as part of her job and as an effort to gain promotion. Leah wants to relocate the family to Denver but neither her husband or daughter wish to go.The stress this brings to the home causes untold arguments between the parents and Robyn asks if she can go to Summer Camp as a means to avoid this?
When Robyn goes she makes friends with a strange, quiet young girl but manages to bring the girl "out of herself" until tragedy strikes for which Robyn blames herself, and she returns home devastated.
A woman befriends the poor young girl while she is at this very vulnerable point and low-ebb and weaves her way into the young-girls daily life like a spider weaving its' web, also seemingly working her charms on Marcus who is only too happy to have someone to care for his daughter if he has a late night at the office AND his wife is away until her presence is so suffocating even young Robyn objects But what will happen when this woman, Dorothy McIntyre, or Cotton or whatever name she happens to give at any given time SNAPS?!
