Putting away childish things (1982) shows how you can move toward the maturity God desires for you. We all have childish behaviour patterns that hold us back from reaching spiritual and emotional maturity, and hinder our growing up in Christ. God can change those old ways and lead you into Christian adulthood. But first you must decide to do away with the childish ways.

David A Seamands was born of missionary parents in India – where he and his wife later served as missionaries themselves for 16 years – and educated in America. For 22 years he was pastor at a Methodist Church in Kentucky and after that professor of pastoral ministries at his alma mater, Asbury Theological Seminary, Willmore. Dr. Seamands is the author of the best-selling Healing of damaged emotions (in finnish Kristitty ja tunteet 1985), Healing of Memories and Putting away childish things (1982; Kasva aikuiseksi 1985).
