Beautiful overstrike on 20 centesimos 1895R of Umberto I in attractive condition. The reeded edge and even all digits of the date are clearly visible!

Note. This emission have to be considered as emergency coins, since they were minted in years when nickel was very important for military industries. In order not to waist nickel the previous 20 centesimos coins (KM#28) withdrawn from circulation were used again as planchets with reeded edge to struck these new coins. As the result the images of original coin may survive and be visible.
