Gary Oldman, Dennis Hopper and OscarÂ(r) winner* Frances McDormand star in this passionately acted and frighteningly real "triumph-over-adversity story"(Screen International) made all the more compellingÂ...because it's true. Oldman is Emmet Foley, a decorated Korean War hero unable to adjust to civilian life. Loading his pistol, Foley takes aim at his Florida hometown, hoping to be killed by police so his wife can collect the insurance. But his actions instead land him in a mental hospital, where he encounters a horrifying scene of abuse, filth and neglect. With the help of a fellow inmate (Hopper), Foley begins a campaign to correct the hospital's vile practices. But can he overcome his reputation as a madman and become a hero once again? *1996: Actress, Fargo

What's crazier?
The BOY sent to kill people he's never met 8000 miles away, or the system that creates those broken men in the first place?
Anyone who still has confidence that government knows what's best for us, is clearly insane and isn't paying attention to historical evidence like this, and many other cases like it.
From systemic lobotomies, to experimental drugs, to this craziness. It's clear to me we've never been anything more than meat puppets to a class of nepotistic statists, trained in arrogance by ivy league institutions; People who lack compassion and spiritual connected-ness of brotherhood, first and foremost.
We still have over a million homeless veterans on the streets. Many of the full time mental institutions were simply closed, not reconstructed and reinvested in, and only the richest families get their relatives the treatment they deserve in conditions befitting of "the richest country in the world". This entire country is a joke.
Justice and equality...if you can afford it.
