A trio of troubled teens (Claire Danes, Giovanni Ribisi and Omar Epps) are rescued from spells in gaol by Captain Greer (Dennis Farina), a detective who wants them to run a covert operation on his behalf. Infiltrating the corrupt world of the underground dance scene, the undercover task force - codenamed the Mod Squad - finds themselves caught in a frame-up that could see them locked up for good.
