When a fake psychic is gorily murdered, Dr. John Pritchard cannot bring himself to believe that the only suspect a girl called Anna is capable of such an awful act. Pritchard takes her into his care but, as further horrific murders take place, can he act in time to stop the trail of slaughter?

I am a fan of classic horror such as the hammer studio productions and those of their rivals amicus and planet i have got 60+ films from that era, mostly hammer films and this is one of their best.

The film is about a young girl named anna who is the daughter of jack the ripper.Her father is found out when she is a small child and she then witnesses him murdering her mother.The story skips on here to where anna is now seventeen and in the care of a fraudulent medium who is being investigated by a doctor and his son.After meeting anna the doctor and his son then leave and the medium attemps to sell anna's virginity to a respected man.This is where anna kills for the first time, traumatized by her childhood experience certain things send her into a murderous trance where she has no control over her actions.

Following that nights events anna is taken to prison before being liberated by the doctor who takes her back to his house to study her in the hope of finding what causes people to murder each other but he cannot prevent her from continuing to kill and so decides that the additional murders anna commits are a price worth paying if he can discover the reason why she kills.

Overall this is an excellent hammer film that is enjoyable all the way through, i also found the ending to be quite good.
