netistä: Spring were a Leicester-based British progressive rock band that represented the early 1970s progressive rock movement. A one-shot band, it recorded only one album in its career, a self-titled LP released in 1971. The CD reissue includes three bonus cuts ("Fool's Gold", "Hendre Mews" and "A Word Full of Whispers") that were from sessions of a never-completed second album from 1972. Spring's music is notable for the use of the mellotron, with three of the its five members credited with playing that instrument on the album.
netistä: One of the most overrated British prog albums (it is in fact more a kind of elaborated pop rock than prog rock). Nasal voice leads me to get tired of it very quick and that bloodless "no balls" approach surely doesn't help much. Since I've started to listen psyh/prog rock in the late 70's, there was always some fame built around Spring album coming to life most probably because of it's master Keef's vivid cover art, tell-tale stories before internet/reissues and "surreal" praise from newly self proclaimed critics during the 90's which all led to forming of an mutual opinion of listeners who are listening the music by reading reviews, eventually giving a good oportunity for dealers to pump up the prices.
