Steve Miller Band - Italian X rays CD

Steve Miller Band on vuonna 1967 perustettu yhdysvaltalainen rock-yhtye, joka on kotoisin San Franciscosta, Kaliforniasta. Sen tunnetuin jäsen on Steve Miller, yhtyeen kitaristi ja laulaja.

Yhtyeen aloitettua soittamaan 1960-luvun lopulla siitä tuli nopeasti yksi Bay Arean suosituimmista yhtyeistä. 1970-luvun puolivälissä yhtye teki kansainvälisen läpimurron ja siitä tuli Stadion-rock -yhtye, se myi useita multi-platinalevyjä kuten The Joker, Fly Like an Eagle ja Book of Dreams ja siltä tuli useita top ten -singlejä.

Yhtye on myynyt kymmeniä miljoonia levyä, muun muassa Yhdysvalloissa 13 kertaista platinaa levyllä Greatest Hits 1974-1978, nelinkertaista platinaa Fly Like an Eagle ja kolminkertaista platinaa Book of Dreams -levyllä.

Yhtyeen tunnetuimpia kappaleita ovat muun muassa The Joker, Fly Like an Eagle, Abracadabra, Rock'N Me ja Jet Airliner. Sillä on tähti Hollywood Walk of Famella.

Italian X Rays is the thirteenth studio album by American rock band Steve Miller Band. The album was released in November 1984, by Capitol Records. "Who Do You Love?" and "Out of the Night" were songs co-written by Steve Miller and Tim Davis. Tim Davis had been a co-founder of the Steve Miller Band and had been a drummer, singer and songwriter with the band during its first five albums, released between 1968 and 1970. As of 1984, Davis was suffering from the effects of diabetes, and died four years later.

Referring to "Out of the Night", Steve Miller wrote, in the liner notes to the Steve Miller Band Box Set (1994), "This is the last song I wrote with Tim Davis. Tim was dying at the time from diabetes and it had taken a terrible toll on him. But he never lost his good humor.
