Vauxhall cars since 1903 Just two years after the death of Queen Victoria the first Vauxhall car was launched. Only a year later, in 1904, a writer in The Autocar was saying: "The average cost of running (daily) has worked out one-third that of the upkeep of my horse". This book records the development of the Vauxhall car over the seventy years of production.
