A woman discovers she has some uninvited house guests in this thriller from director Andrew Paquin. After recently separating from her husband, Alice (Rachel Blanchard) shows prospective buyers around the home she has now decided to sell. Unbeknown to Alice, however, two psychopathic killers, David (Brian Geraghty) and Lila (Tricia Helfer), are hiding in the house and soon make their presence felt. After murdering one of her friends, they then imprison Alice in the basement, before acting out their fantasies of domestic bliss, all the while dispatching any visitors unlucky enough to call. The director's sister, Anna Paquin, also co-stars with her fellow 'True Blood' actor, Stephen Moyer.

This 2010 home intruder style horror follows Alice [Rachel Blanchard], who, going through a divorce, tries to sell her home through an open house event. With a lack of interest, she throws a dinner evening and has too much to drink, but when she wakes up she soon discovers that her best friend didn’t leave and there’s someone else there, yet you’re still less than 10 minutes in.
This is certainly atmospheric from the start but like most horrors’ the main character is too inquisitive, although this builds tension, it’s not focused in the beginning and loses the shock value [lose a *], but despite being ‘house bound’ this movie manages to pile up the body count and maintain a good tense pace throughout [regain a *]. Superbly acted are Lila [Tricia Helfer -Battlestar Gallactica] and David [Brian Geraghty] are the unhinged siblings who like to play with knives.
The single disc is bare bones offering play, scene selection , set-up [2.0/5.1] and a trailer. Rated 18 this has no nudity and less than half dozen instances of swearing, but there are a few murders and knife based slash and murder, some graphic, half out of shot leaving it to your imagination and a scene of a person being beaten with a belt. Not for everyone, and with a fair share of flaws, it does maintain the interest so gains a grudging ***** rating.
