Whether Perfect Strangers is the second best album of Deep Purple’s classic Mk2 line-up is a matter of personal opinion, as fan rankings vary widely between 1970's In Rock and 1972's Machine Head for the top spots. However, many rock fans and critics widely regard it as the absolute finest reunion/comeback album in rock history.

"Perfect Strangers" is the title track and second-to-last track on Deep Purple's 1984 reunion album. Written by Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, and Roger Glover, the 5-minute and 28-second song is praised for its atmospheric Hammond organ intro by Jon Lord, heavy guitar riff, and lack of a traditional guitar solo.
