Is a woman's happiness determined solely by whether or not she is beautiful?

A heartwarming literary masterpiece that depicts the fate of a kind-hearted woman with an unattractive, plain face, evoking tears and profound emotion!

In the mid-Taisho era, the streets of Nishinagahori in Osaka were bustling with people during the Inari Festival.

The three daughters of the renowned long-established shop "Senkyo" crossed into the grounds of the Inari shrine.

The eldest daughter, Okazu, was the complete opposite of her sisters in terms of looks, but she possessed a heart more beautiful than anyone else's.

On their way back from the shrine, some spiteful, spoiled sons began to tease Okazu.

Fortunately, the shop manager, Tomoshichi, happened to be there and protected Okazu, chasing them away. However, for Okazu, who secretly harbored feelings for Tomoshichi, the events of that day became unforgettable.
