Moribound Records Usa todella hyväkuntoinen käytetty CD
After I got really tired to understand what the fuck is the name of the band, since the logo is in Swahili or something, I realized that KROHM (yeah, that's the name of the band) just released their brand new album The Haunting Presence, and I am here to review one more Black Metal release.
Debemur Morti Productions has offered some pretty good Black Metal releases (HORNA, KULT) to the hungry for blasphemy audience, and I had the feeling that KROHM would be a more than just a decent band. Just for your info, Numinas, the man behind KROHM, is the one who has participated in acts like EVOKEN, INFESTED and FUNEBRARUM.
Anyway, the US Black Metal act, has just released its sophomore effort, and as Numinas says, his intention with KROHM is to bring back the Black Metal style of the early 90's. In a way, he has managed to fulfill part of his dream, since he has left his more atmospheric past behind, following a darker and straighter path. The haunted guitar melodies and the nihilistic drumming create a suicidal atmosphere that drags the listener to KROHM's dark void leading him to eternal entrapment in the netherworld.
The raw production is one more thing that makes The Haunting Presence what is has to be, since the sound that covers every track in this album, could be the sound of one of your worst nightmares. I am not trying to convince you that we are having to deal with the best or one of the best Black Metal releases for 2007, but KROHM's old school melodic approach to your personal hell, is something that will definitely please every single fan of the specific sound.
I suggest that dedicated blacksters should check it out and see for themselves that the US black metallers(s) can feed their blasphemous hunger and become a precious part of every Black Metal collection.
