Ph?m Xuân ?n (September 12th 1927- September 20th 2006) was a Vietnamese general with nickname "Hai Trung" or "Tran Van Trung". He worked in South Vietnam for Reuters, Time magazine and the New York Herald Tribune during the Vietnam War while simultaneously reported for North Vietnam. His first Viet Minh medal came after the battle of Ap Bac and he went on to make a major contribution to the ultimate defeat of the US and Saigon. He was awarded the trophy "People's Army Force Hero" by Vietnamese government on date January 15th 1976.
