An album of interesting yet familiar music from Def Leppard guitarist; Phil Collen. On release Phil is joined by his former Girl band-mate Simon Laffy as well as Sex Pistol Paul Cook. Collen handles all the guitar and vocals on the album and upon hearing it you quickly realize that he is the sound of Def Leppard.
The first couple of tracks on the CD have the modern Def Lep sound to them and Phil’s vocals are quite similar to Joe Elliot’s. Track Three; “Runnin’ Me Up” has a heavy reggae influence and vibe to it. This is the most left of center song on the entire disc. While it is a good song it is just out of place here and should have been left for a B-Side or Bonus Track. The remainder of the album is comprised of mid-tempo rockers that are along the lines of the last few Def Lep releases. Unfortunately there is no PYROMANIA style songs on here.
A good quality release of music and a must own for any fan of Def Leppard. This release is more upbeat and enjoyable than some of Lep’s latest offerings. Some of the stand outs are “This Is”, “Turn It Up” and “Connected To You”.
