Masahiro Shinoda
Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1931. Film director, specially appointed professor at Waseda University. His published works include Eisenstein (Iwanami Shoten) and Kawaramono no Susume - Shie to Shura no Kioku (Gengi Shobo, winner of the 39th Izumi Kyoka Literary Prize). His film credits include Shinju Ten no Amijima, Children's Baseball Team, Shonen Jidai, Sharaku, and Fukurou no Shiro.
Shigeru Wakayama
Born in Taiwan in 1947. Architect. Professor Emeritus at Nagoya Institute of Technology. His published works include A Journey Towards Architecture - The Culture of Accumulation and the Culture of Assembly (Fuyuki-sha) and 'House' and 'Inn' - A Cultural Theory from Architecture (Asahi Shimbun). Architectural works include Takahagi City Library and Nishio City Iwase Library.
