Born 7 March 1946 in Addiscombe, Croydon, England. Ex-keyboardist of Procol Harum, solo artist, producer, engineer and owner of Old Barn Studios. Was credited co-writer of " A Whiter Shade Of Pale"  in a lawsuit in 2005/2006. 

Matthew Fisher, born March 1946 in Croydon near London, was the organ/piano player on and sometimes (co)-writer of Procol Harum classics like "A Whiter Shade of Pale", "Conquistador", "Homburg", "Repent Walpurgis", "In Held Twas in I", "Quite Rightly So" and so on.

netistä: Fisherin erinomainen barokkityylinen soft rock -debyytti on loistava alusta loppuun. Siinä on mieleenpainuvia kappaleita, tarttuvia melodioita, nokkelia ja itseironisia sanoituksia, lämmintä laulua ja mukavia instrumentaalisia kukoistuksia lähes jokaisessa kappaleessa. Ja mikä tärkeintä – sitä ei ole ylituotettu, kuten hänen seuraavat levynsä yleensä ovat; liiallinen orkestrointi on tässä pidetty minimissä. Älykästä, tyylikästä ja älykästä musiikkia – yhtä parhaista genressä. Täydellisessä maailmassa monet kappaleista olisivat olleet hittejä ja albumia olisi ylistetty klassikoksi. 

As you can tell from the lyrics to any song you might choose to listen to on Journey's End, dude really CAN NOT get over getting the shaft from Procol. but who could blame him? anyway, for me it's more excellent songwriting in the same vein as "Pilgrim's Progress" or "Repent Walpurgis", though I think it could have used more inventively arranged, playful stuff in the style of "The Wreck of the Hesperus". also, the Dylan influence creeps in a bit too heavily for me like on "Interlude". but it's the title track that really makes the experience worthwhile.

Now released on CD with its follow-up " I'll be there" ,"journey's end" is the first record Fisher has made since he left Procol Harum.Melodism to the fore,it's a nice album:people who likes "pilgrim's progress" on "a salty dog" will enjoy "Suzanne" or "Not her fault but mine" .There's a lovely instrumental as well.
