Merilyn Tunneshende : Medicine dream

The Tzolkin, the Mayan prophetic calendar, points to this age as one of great change and transformation. Beginning in the last Katun-twenty-year cycle-the Earth Mother will withdraw her life force energy to facilitate the transition to a new world, the Sixth Sun of Pure Consciousness, that dawns in the year 2012. It is said that during this period many people will begin to remember their divine evolutionary process; the wisdom of the ages will pour out of them to build a bridge to the new world. In 1992 Merilyn Tunneshende's awakening began with a series of dreams about the ancient Mayan world in which she struggled to redeem the sacrificial or blood element inherent in the transformational process. When she became ill with AIDS, she returned to Mexico, the scene of her earlier nagualist traning, to undergo the ritual of "healing dreaming." Amid the ruins of ancient Palenque, she crossed into other realms and there experienced powerful transmutational energies. She returned with "knowledge missing in a striken world...these realms can become accessible and their energies used for transforming consciousness on all levels." Merilyn Tunneshende says of her book MEDICINE DREAM that it is "a gift of transformation. It will place its immortal spark within you and slowly begin its magic." Merilyn Tunneshende is a scholar, author, and student of nagualist/shamanic and visionary healing practices. She holds degrees in Spanish and Religion/Philosophy and spent years studying and traveling in Mexico. In 1992, Ms. Tunneshende was awarded a research grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to study Mayan culture in Mexico.
