Profile:
English producer and former manager of The Rolling Stones, born 29 January 1944 in London. Founder of Immediate. After working for Carnaby Street mod designer John Stephen and later as an assistant to then-emerging fashion designer Mary Quant, Oldham became a publicist for British and American musicians and for producer Joe Meek, and had publicity roles for Bob Dylan (on his first UK visit) and The Beatles (working for Brian Epstein in early 1963. He and Eric Easton founded Impact Sound, and co-managed the Stones until Eason's ousting in 1965. Oldham continued as manager and producer until 1967, when he resigned after Jagger and Richards' drug bust - they found him unsupportive in their time of need.
He went on to he sign/produce acts for Immediate. Artists he worked with included P.P. Arnold, Chris Farlowe, The Small Faces, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, Rod Stewart, The Nice, Jimmy Page, Nico, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Amen Corner, The McCoys, The Strangeloves, Duncan Browne, Humble Pie, Donovan, and Gene Pitney.
