Pinocchio is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the 1883 children's novel Le Avventure di Pinocchio (1883; The Adventures of Pinocchio), by Carlo Collodi (Carlo Lorenzini, 1826 – 1890), an Italian writer, and has since appeared in many adaptations of that story and others. Carved by a woodcarver named Geppetto in a small Italian village, he was created as a wooden puppet but dreamed of becoming a real boy. He has also been used as a character who is prone to telling lies and fabricating stories for various reasons. Pinocchio is known for having a short nose that becomes longer when he is under stress, especially while lying. His clothes are made of flowered paper, his shoes are made of wood and his hat is made of bread.

Adventure, battle and sudden death are all part of this famous story written over a hundred and fifty years ago. Set in North America, near the Hudson River, it is also the story of a gallant Indian warrio and a fearless frontier-scout.

The Last of the Mohicans (1826) is a historical novel by James Fenimore Cooper. The Last of the Mohicans is set in 1757, during the French and Indian War (the Seven Years' War), when France and Great Britain battled for control of North America. During this war, both the French and the British used Native American allies, but the French were particularly dependent, as they were outnumbered in the Northeast frontier areas by the more numerous British colonists.
