The Troubled Three • Moving On CD
Moving On is the 2012 album from The Troubled Three, a trio from Stockholm, Sweden who put their own distinctive stamp on the Rockabilly scene. Rather than simply churning out standard Rockabilly fare, the band draw on their backgrounds in Pop, Punk and Rock to create something much more individual, with one foot firmly planted in the '50s and the other in the present.
When The Troubled Three began exploring older music, they looked beyond the obvious Elvis Presley influences and went straight to the roots of Rock 'n' Roll. Rhythm & Blues, Jump Blues, Hillbilly and Western Swing all play an important part in their sound, giving tracks such as Slow Down Ms. Brown, On The Radio, Let Me Satisfy Your Soul, Moving On and Maritime Blues a wonderfully authentic yet contemporary feel.
That combination of deep roots and modern attitude is the key to The Troubled Three's appeal. Moving On is a great choice for anyone who likes their Rockabilly with plenty of musical character, bringing together the sounds of early Rock 'n' Roll, Blues and Hillbilly without simply retracing familiar ground. A seriously enjoyable album from a band that knows where Rockabilly came from while being very happy to take it somewhere new.
