Jo pitkään Lanciaa kuljettanut Markku Alen sai tallikaverikseen Henry Toivosen. Peugeot oli ensi kertaa Suomessa mukana nelivetoisella 205-turbolla Ari Vatasen kuljettamana. Kasetilla mukana myös englantilaisparin hurja kaato Humalamäen erikoiskokeella sekä muita hurjia hyppyjä ja vauhdikasta menoa. On this videotape you can see the Rally of the 1000 Lakes which is one of the worlds hardest rallies. It was held this year on 22nd 26th of August and the rally route includes 51 special stages which all were narrow gravel roads with tight curves and "jumps". You can see the first time in Finland the new Audi Sports, having over 400 horsepower, driven by Michele Mouton and Hannu Mikkola . Stig Blomqvist trusted in his old big Audi . Italian Lancia brought two cars to this rally. Markku Alen who has several years been a Lancia driver drove the other car and the other was driven by Henry Toivonen . French Peugeot trusted only on one 4WD car and on one man, Ari Vatanen , who fulfilled all the expectations by wining the rally.
