Documentary examining the American role in the Vietnam War, from the first appearance of 'special advisors' to the South Vietnamese in the early 1960s, to the escalation of the civil war after the overt introduction of American ground troops in 1965. This documentary is a record of the American administration's presentation of events, coupled with a soldier's-eye view of the fighting on the ground in battles such as the Tet Offensive and Bien Hua. with newsreel footage from both sides of the conflict.
