Western The Gatling Gun (1969/1971) - John Carradine

Kuvaus
Uudenlaisesta aseesta kamppaillaan. Gatling oli historian ensimmäinen onnistunut konetuliase ja edelsi tavanomaista konekivääriä. Tuttu mm. Hurjasta joukosta.
Lured by Apache gold, two cavalry troopers desert their post, killing some of their fellow troopers in order to steal a Gatling Gun. The devious two use a pacifist pastor to bring the weapon across the country. A pursuing cavalry patrol kills one of the deserters and captures the other, however the recovered weapon has been made inoperable.
The Apaches, under their chief Two Knife, relentlessly attack the patrol in order to get the Gatling Gun, or "King Gun" as they call it, to use against the soldiers.
Low budget western which drops the titular weapon in as a MacGuffin in order to try and disguise a basic rerun of the "trek across hostile Injun territory" which the rest of the genre left behind before the war. Gets bonus points for giving Woody Strode such a high billing and so many scenes, but loses them again by giving him nothing to do. Adding in John Carradine, Pat Buttram and Patrick Wayne meaning western buffs will get a bit of a kick out of it while the rest of the cast includes Phil "Baloo/Little John/Thomas O'Mally" doing an Andy Devine impression and Star Trek totty BarBara Luna but really it's nothing special.
